Abstract:
Dans un contexte de mondialisation connu par l’augmentation de la pression concurrentielle, le recours à l’exploration de nouveaux débouchés au-delà des frontières devient une nécessité. Opérer et effectuer des affaires à l’international est une source déterminante pour le succès et le développement des firmes, toutefois, il constitue un processus difficile et complexe que transiger sur les marchés domestiques uniquement et ce, pour une plusieurs raisons. La distance culturelle, les connaissances linguistiques, l’absence de proximité, etc., sont autant de facteurs qui freinent le développement des firmes, notamment de taille modeste. L’exportation, comme étant, la première étape de l’internationalisation, a suscité l’intérêt de plusieurs pays du monde et constitue aujourd’hui un ingrédient de succès. Les « success stories » des petites et moyennes entreprises qui ont franchi des marchés très lointains ont démontré que les freins au développement international peuvent être soulevés. Operating and doing business internationally is a determining source for the success and development of firms, however, it is a difficult and complex process to deal in domestic markets only, for a number of reasons. Cultural distance, linguistic knowledge, lack of proximity, etc., are all factors that slow down the development of firms, especially of modest size. Exporting, as being the first step of internationalization, has aroused the interest of several countries of the world and constitutes today an ingredient of success.
