Abstract:
Η παρούσα έρευνα είχε ως σκοπό τη διερεύνηση της λειτουργίας της εργαζόμενης μνήμης και των εκτελεστικών λειτουργιών σε Πολύγλωσσους, Δίγλωσσους και Μονόγλωσσους ενήλικες. Συνολικά συμμετείχαν 64 ενήλικες, με μητρική γλώσσα την ελληνική, από τους οποίους οι 24 ήταν Πολύγλωσσοι, οι 8 Δίγλωσσοι και οι 32 Μονόγλωσσοι. Για τις ανάγκες της έρευνας, οι Δίγλωσσοι και Πολύγλωσσοι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες ενώθηκαν σε μια ομάδα και αποτέλεσαν την Πειραματική ομάδα ενώ οι Μονόγλωσσοι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες αποτέλεσαν την ομάδα Ελέγχου. Ο αριθμός των ανδρών και των γυναικών ήταν ίσος, διότι το δείγμα αποτελούταν από 32 άνδρες και 32 γυναίκες. Πιο συγκεκριμένα, στην Πειραματική ομάδα συμμετείχαν 16 άνδρες και 16 γυναίκες και στην ομάδα Ελέγχου έλαβαν μέρος 16 άνδρες και 16 γυναίκες. Οι Μονόγλωσσοι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες που αποτελούσαν την ομάδα ελέγχου, μιλούσαν μόνο τη μητρική τους γλώσσα, την ελληνική. Οι Δίγλωσσοι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες μιλούσαν δυο ξένες γλώσσες, ενώ οι Πολύγλωσσοι συμμετέχοντες/ουσες από τρεις έως τέσσερις ξένες ... : The aim of the present study was to investigate the function of working memory and executive functions in Multilingual, Bilingual and Monolingual adults. The study involved 64 adults, with a native language of Greek, of whom 24 were multilinguals, 8 bilinguals and 32 monolinguals. For the needs of the research, the Bilingual and Multilingual participants were grouped together and formed the Experimental group while the Monolingual participants formed the Control group. The number of men and women was equal because the sample consisted of 32 men and 32 women. More specifically, 16 men and 16 women participated in the Experimental group and 16 men and 16 women participated in the Control group. The monolingual participants who constituted the control group, spoke only their native language (Greek). Bilingual participants spoke two foreign languages, while multilingual participants spoke three to four foreign languages.
