Abstract:
The goal of this article is to analyse the restrictions and morpho-syntactic alternations that Spanish, Catalan and Aragonese object clitics are subject to when they form a cluster. To this end, attention will be paid to two types of ungrammatical combinations in these languages: the combination of two third person accusative and dative clitics (cf. Bonet 1991; Cuervo 2013; Perlmutter 1971) and the so-called Person-Case Constraint (cf. Anagnostopoulou 2003; Bonet 1991; Omazabal y Romero 2013). As will be shown, the three languages vary with respect to the different morphological strategies resorted to in order to repair the relevant clitic clusters.
