Abstract:
A aprendizagem de línguas coloca os alunos em diálogo com culturas, crenças e normas diferentes. Quem ensina línguas estrangeiras deve, portanto, ensinar a interpretar e produzir mensagens linguísticas tendo em conta a complexidade do contexto cultural em que elas ocorrem. Para isso, é fundamental que os alunos desenvolvam a atenção à dimensão pragmática da comunicação intercultural. Este relatório sugere que os projetos de intercâmbio intercultural on-line (O’Dowd, 2007) podem constituir uma abordagem pedagógica privilegiada para o desenvolvimento da consciência pragmática, como parte da competência comunicativa intercultural (Byram, 1997). Em primeiro lugar, oferece-se uma visão global de algumas questões relacionadas com a competência pragmática, a pragmática interlinguística e a presença da pragmática intercultural no ensino de línguas estrangeiras, e discutem-se as relações entre o desenvolvimento de competências pragmáticas e os novos desafios e oportunidades apresentados pela comunicação através da web. Depois, apresentam-se as características e os resultados de dois projetos programados e levados a cabo no âmbito da Prática de Ensino Supervisionada desenvolvida no Colégio Marista de Carcavelos, sobre a qual também se oferecem algumas informações e reflexões. Este relatório sugere que é possível e vantajoso integrar no ensino de línguas estrangeiras atividades dirigidas diretamente ao desenvolvimento de competências pragmáticas. ; Learning languages constitutes an opportunity for students to engage in dialogue with different cultures, beliefs and norms. Those who teach foreign languages must thus teach how to interpret and produce linguistic messages taking into account the complexity of the cultural context in which they occur. In this regard, it it crucial that students develop an awareness of the pragmatic dimension of intercultural communication. This report suggests that online intercultural exchanges (O’Dowd, 2007) can be an ideal opportunity for the development of pragmatic awareness, as part of the intercultural communicative competence (Byram, 1997). First, this paper offers an overview of some issues related to the pragmatic competence, interlanguage pragmatics and the presence of intercultural pragmatics in the teaching of foreign languages. The connections between the development of pragmatic competences and the new challenges and opportunity posed by internet mediated communication are also discussed. Then, the features and results of two projects designed and carried out as part of the practicum are presented and discussed, as well as some some details and reflections about the practicum itself. Overall, this report suggests that the inclusion of activities directly aimed at the development of pragmatic competences in the teaching of foreign languages is possible and advantageous.
