Abstract:
; ]EN] This final degree project is an experimental study whose aim is to explore the impact of morphological knowledge on lexical recognition in fifth grade students. Furthermore, it will investigate if the way of teaching morphology in primary education helps to identify the lexicon and to expand the vocabulary. The research sample is constituted of 44 students that study fifth grade at a charter school in the city of Salamanca (Spain). To this end, it will be done a review of the contents on morphology established in the curriculum and how they are presented through the textbooks used by students in third, fourth and fifth grade. Subsequently, the students were carried out a series of written tests to know what their knowledge about lexical morphology was. The results have allowed us to reach important conclusions for didactics, since they show that learning the lexicon in a connected way, through morphological segmentation into words that share one of the morphemes, favours the expansion of vocabulary and a better understanding of the terms.
