Empréstimos lingüísticos e estrangeirismo: a legitimação de teorias lingüísticas através de leigos

Abstract:
A mudança lingüística é estudada por muitos lingüistas que afirmam estar a língua em constante transformação porque a sociedade está também em transformação. Basta recordar que o português se originou do latim que, por sua vez, teve sua origem em outra língua. Parte dessa transformação se deve ao uso de empréstimos lingüísticos, o que ocorre quando um falante ou um grupo de falantes tomam emprestados de outras línguas palavras que acham que não possuem, palavras estas que passam a integrar-se ao idioma. O que é impreciso para falantes nativos, no entanto, é delimitar um ponto, temporal ou não, a partir do qual se possa afirmar que um empréstimo passa a se tornar parte integrante do léxico da língua, ou até mesmo reconhecer que a língua portuguesa possui, em sua base, palavras que têm sua origem em outros idiomas, como o indígena, quando da sua formação, ou palavras de outros países que se adaptaram completamente. A fim de esclarecer estas e outras questões a cerca do papel dos estrangeirismos na contínua transformação da língua portuguesa do Brasil, foram realizadas entrevistas a falantes nativos, entrevistas estas cujas indagações versaram desde a formação da língua portuguesa do Brasil até o futuro da mesma, com perguntas como: “A nossa língua deve ser considerada estrangeira, já que veio do português de Portugal?” ou ainda “Empréstimos totalmente adaptados, como chá, ainda são consideradas estrangeirismos?” e até mesmo perguntas de política lingüística como: “A língua portuguesa do Brasil será, algum dia, substituída por outra língua?”, “Existe língua pura?” ou então “É possível impedir o uso de palavras de outros idiomas?”. Com a análise destes dados pretendeu-se chegar a um conceito do que seja estrangeirismo bem como entender como se dá a concepção e transformação da linguagem para os falantes nativos do português do Brasil leigos. ; The linguistic change has been studied by many linguists that affirm that the language is in constant transformation because the society is also in transformation. It is enough to remember that the Portuguese originated itself from the Latin that had its origin in another language. Part of this transformation occurred because of the use of linguistic loans, what occurs when a speaker or a group of speakers import words from other languages because they think they need them, foreign words that are adapted to the speaker’s system. What is inexact for native speakers, however, is to delimit a point in time, from which it can be affirmed that a loan became an integrant part of the lexicon of the language, even though recognizing that the Portuguese Language has, in its lexical base, words that have its origin in other languages, for instance, words form aboriginal origin in the beginning, or words imported from other countries, perfectly adapted to the speaker’s language. In order to clarify these and other questions about the roll played by foreign words in the continuous transformation of the Portuguese Language of Brazil, it was carried out several interviews with native speakers. The investigations were focused in different topics like the origin of Portuguese Language in Portugal and in Brazil. Some specific questions were asked, such as “do you think we have a different language in Brazil compared with the language spoken in Portugal? Does pure language exist? The language spoken in Brazil will be another language in the future? Is it possible for a language not to import any word from other languages? With the analysis of these data it was intended to reveal a native speaker’s concept of foreign words. On the other hand, the native speaker’s ideas about the subject can be compared with the scientific approach elaborated by linguists. ; Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior (CAPES)
