Abstract:
Intercultural communication is communication between native speakers and people who are not native speakers, as well as any communication between people with differences in language and cultural traditions. Since people living in different linguistic environments have differences in language habits, human history and customs, it is easy to misunderstand and fail in communication if they do not understand each other’s cultural habits in the process of communication. Thus, understanding linguistic customs and cultural traditions promotes effective communication and ensures good intercultural communication with each other. Language is the carrier of culture, and culture is the content carried by language. For any language subject, it is impossible to separate culture in the teaching process. Therefore, it is necessary and important to strengthen the cultivation of students’ intercultural communication skills in College English teaching.
