Abstract: Thomas Locker (1937–2012), an American author and illustrator, published more than 35picturebooks during his life time. His paintings are often said to bear reminiscences to those of the Hudson River School in the nineteenth century. This paper reviews 33 of his picturebooks and tries to point out characteristics of Locker’s work in the context of the age he lived in and also in relation to the School above mentioned. ; 研究ノート
