Perceção das consoantes fricativas do português língua segunda por aprendentes chineses

Abstract:
Dissertação de mestrado em Português Língua Não Materna (PLNM) - Português Língua Estrangeira (PLE) e Língua Segunda (PL2) ; Nos últimos anos, o interesse por estudos linguísticos sobre a aquisição fonética e fonológica do Português Língua Segunda (PL2) por aprendentes chineses tem crescido consideravelmente. No entanto, neste domínio, poucos estudos focaram a aquisição fonética e fonológica das consoantes fricativas do Português Europeu (PE). Apesar disso, é possível que essas consoantes causem dificuldades a aprendentes chineses no percurso de aquisição da língua portuguesa. Por essa razão, esta dissertação pretende investigar a aquisição das consoantes fricativas /f, v, s, z, ʃ, ʒ/ do PE, concentrando-se na perceção dessas fricativas por aprendentes chineses tardios de PL2. Foram aplicados, no presente estudo, um questionário sociolinguístico, um teste de Identificação (ID) das consoantes fricativas do PE e um teste de proficiência na L2 através da plataforma Gorilla. Foram recrutados 30 participantes, falantes nativos de mandarim que tinham o PE como L2 no grupo experimental (Grupo 1), e 15 falantes nativos portugueses no grupo de controlo (Grupo 0). Procurou-se investigar (i) se os falantes chineses de PL2 têm dificuldades na identificação dos sons fricativos do PE; (ii) quais são as consoantes fricativas do PE que causam maiores dificuldades percetivas a falantes nativos de mandarim aprendentes de PL2; (iii) se o contexto vocálico que segue as consoantes testadas interfere na perceção das mesmas; (iv) se existe uma associação entre os resultados do teste de ID e outras variáveis, como o nível de proficiência em PL2, o tempo de estudo do português, o tempo de residência em Portugal ou as horas de contacto com o português. Os resultados demonstram que, de modo geral, os aprendentes chineses perceberam as consoantes fricativas do PL2 de forma diferente dos falantes nativos portugueses, sendo a capacidade de identificação das mesmas inferior à dos falantes nativos portugueses. A consoante /s/ do PL2 causou maior dificuldade aos aprendentes chineses. Os resultados também suportam a existência do efeito de contexto vocálico na identificação das consoantes fricativas. Os aprendentes chineses tiveram melhor desempenho no contexto vocálico /a/, comparando com /i/. Esta diferença poderá dever-se à influência das restrições fonotáticas do mandarim. Além disso, os resultados revelam que a capacidade de perceção dos sons de uma L2 aumenta com a experiência linguística. Em geral, confirmou-se uma forte influência da L1 no desenvolvimento dos sons da L2, mas esta influência diminui à medida que o nível de proficiência dos falantes aumenta. ; In recent years, the interest of linguistic studies on the phonetic and phonological acquisition of Portuguese as a Second Language (PL2) by Chinese learners has grown considerably. However, in this domain, few studies have focused on the phonetic and phonological acquisition of fricatives in European Portuguese (EP). Even though the acquisitions of fricatives have been less studied, it is possible that these consonants cause difficulties for Chinese learners. For this reason, this study aims to investigate the acquisition of the EP fricatives /f, v, s, z, ʃ, ʒ/, focusing on the perception of these fricatives by Chinese learners of PL2. In this dissertation, a sociolinguistic questionnaire, an Identification (ID) test of EP fricative consonants, and an L2 proficiency test were applied via the Gorilla platform. Thirty native Mandarin speaking participants who had EP as a second language were recruited in the experimental group (Group 1) and 15 native Portuguese speakers in the control group (Group 0). We sought to investigate (i) whether Chinese PL2 speakers have difficulties in identifying EP fricatives; (ii) which EP fricative consonants cause the greatest perceptual difficulties for native Mandarin speakers; (iii) whether the vowel context that follows the consonants interferes with their perception; (iv) whether there is a significant correlation between the results of the ID test and other variables, such as the level of proficiency in PL2, the time of study of Portuguese, the time of residence in Portugal or the hours of contact with Portuguese. The results show that, in general, Chinese learners perceived the fricatives of PL2 differently from native Portuguese speakers, and their ability to identify them was lower than that of native Portuguese speakers. The consonant /s/ of PL2 caused more difficulties for Chinese learners. The results also supported the existence of the vocalic context effect in the identification of fricative consonants. Chinese learners performed better in the vocalic context /a/ compared to /i/. This difference might be due to the influence of Mandarin phonotactic constraints. Furthermore, the results revealed that the ability to perceive the sounds of an L2 increases with language experience. In general, a strong influence of the L1 on the development of L2 sounds was confirmed, but this influence decreases as the speakers' proficiency level the increases. ; 近年来，一些语言学家对中国学习者的葡萄牙语作为第二语言的语音习得的研究感兴 趣。然而，很少有研究着重于欧洲葡萄牙语的摩擦音的语音习得。但对于中国学习者 来说，很有可能这些摩擦音会对他们造成一些习得方面的困难。因此，本篇论文旨在 研究汉语母语的葡语第二语言学习者对于葡语摩擦音的习得。 本论文通过平台Gorilla 完成了一个社会调查问卷、一个欧洲葡语摩擦音鉴别测试和一 个第二语言能力测试。实验组（1 组）包括了30 名葡语作为第二语言的普通话母语者 被试，控制组（0组）包含15名葡语母语被试。本篇论文旨在研究以下问题：1）普通 话母语的葡语第二语言学习者是否在鉴别葡语摩擦音方面有困难；2）对于普通话母语 的葡语第二语言学习者，哪些摩擦音会对他们造成更大的感知困难；3）跟在被测摩擦 音之后的原因是否会影响其感知；4）鉴别测试的结果与其他变量，例如：第二语言能 力、葡语学习时间、在葡居住时间和与葡语的接触时间之间是否存在显著相关关系。 测试结果表明，总体来说，中国葡语第二语言学习者感知葡语摩擦音的方式与葡语母 语者不同。中国学习者对葡语摩擦辅音的感知能力不如葡语母语者。葡语摩擦辅音/s/ 对于中国学习者来说是最难感知的。在实验组和控制组之间，只有摩擦辅音/s/ 的鉴别 正确率显示出显著差别。 测试结果也表明了元音对摩擦辅音的鉴别有影响。相比元音 为/i/时，当元音为/a/，中国学习者在摩擦音感知上有更好的表现。元音不同造成的感 知差别可能是因为普通话的音韵限制。此外，结果表明随着语言经验的增加，对第二 语言声音的感知能力也会增加。总体上，本篇论文确认了母语对第二语言声音的习得 有强烈影响，但这种影响会随着学习者第二语言水平的提高减弱。
