Abstract: Relatório de estágio de mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue ; O presente relatório descreve os trabalhos desenvolvidos e a aprendizagem adquirida durante o estágio curricular realizado no âmbito do curso de Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue da Universidade do Minho. O estágio teve a duração de três meses e decorreu no 2° semestre do ano letivo 2020/2021, em regime remoto, na empresa SMARTIDIOM. Neste documento é também feita uma análise das consequências da globalização para a tradução nos dias de hoje, que me serviu de preparação para o estágio curricular e para futuros desafios que poderei vir a enfrentar enquanto aspirante a tradutora freelancer. Durante o estágio curricular desempenhei a função de tradutora, tendo como principal atividade a tradução de textos pertencentes a áreas de especialização distintas, em diferentes combinações linguísticas. O estágio teve os seguintes objetivos: a integração nos métodos de trabalho de uma empresa de tradução; salientar a importância do trabalho de equipa para a correta e bem-sucedida gestão dos projetos de tradução; melhorar as competências tradutórias através da prática, da verificação das revisões e do contacto direto com outros tradutores e revisores; aprimorar a utilização das CAT Tools; aprender a gerir o tempo disponível e respeitar os prazos de entrega. Esta foi uma experiência fundamental, por me ter permitido vivenciar o dia a dia de uma empresa de tradução num contexto real de trabalho, obter uma visão geral da situação do mercado laboral da tradução num mundo globalizado e aplicar e consolidar os conhecimentos teórico-práticos adquiridos durante o mestrado, atingindo com sucesso os objetivos do estágio. ; This report describes the work developed and the knowledge acquired during the curricular internship carried out during the Master’s Degree in Translation and Multilingual Communication of the University of Minho. The three-month remote curricular internship took place at SMARTIDIOM, during the 2nd semester of the 2020/2021 academic year. This report also provides an analysis of the nowadays consequences of globalisation for translation, which has prepared me for the curricular internship and for future challenges I may face as a freelance translator. During the curricular internship, I worked as a translator. My main task was the translation of texts belonging to different areas of specialisation, in different language combinations. The objectives of the internship were: the integration within the working methods of a translation company; highlight the importance of teamwork for the correct and successful management of translation projects; improve translation skills through practice, revision analysis and direct contact with other translators and revisers; improve the use of CAT Tools; manage time and respect deadlines. This was a crucial experience, as it allowed me to experience the day-to-day life of a translation company in a real work environment. Such experience provided me with an overview of the condition of the translation labour market in a globalised world and allowed me to apply and consolidate the theoretical-practical knowledge acquired during the Master's, successfully achieving the internship goals.
