	Abstract: "Bilderbücher vermitteln nicht nur Informationen, sondern haben auch einen großen Einfluss auf den Spracherwerb und die Ausbildung von kognitiven Kompetenzen. Damit leisten sie einen zentralen Beitrag zum Kulturalisierungsprozess von Kindern und übermitteln zugleich als Träger_innen gesellschaftlicher Diskurse Vorstellungen von Geschlecht und geschlechts(un)typischem Verhalten. Anhand der Analyse von 6 117 Figuren aus 133 aktuell in Kindertageseinrichtungen genutzten Bilderbüchern wird in diesem Beitrag den Fragen nachgegangen, welche zweigeschlechtlichen Verteilungsmuster in Bilderbüchern vorzufinden sind, inwieweit geschlechtsstereotype Darstellungen gefestigt beziehungsweise aufgebrochen werden und ob aktuell verwendete Kinderliteratur einem heteronormativen Paradigma verhaftet ist." (Autorenreferat) ; "In addition to providing information, picture books have a great influence on language learning and the development of cognitive skills. They thus make an important contribution to children's culturalization process, and as a conduit of social discourses they transport ideas of gender and men's and women's (a)typical behaviour. Using data from 6,117 characters in 133 picture books which are currently being read in child day care facilities, the article examines the following questions: What is the binary gender distribution in picture books? Are gender stereotypes reproduced or are they softened? Do picture books add to the heteronormative dualism of men and women?" (author's abstract)
