Literacy technologies: What stance should we take?
Bruce, Bertram C.. - : Official Journal of The Literacy Research Association, formerly The National Reading Conference, 1997
Abstract: Underlying both the excitement and the un- ease about technology are deeper issues about lit- eracy and its relation to the physical world, the na- ture of knowledge, social change, linguistics, aesthetics, and morality. At the core are questions about what it means to be human. If we open up the current debates to these underlying issues, we may find not only that we arrive at different conclusions, but that our understanding of literacy itself has changed. ; published or submitted for publication ; is peer reviewed
