	Abstract: Para la comunicación científica global es irrenunciable disponer de unas lenguas de comunicación comunes, un papel que desde hace tiempo ha asumido en exclusiva un inglés global, algunas veces simplificado, que -como sostienen la Asociación para la Defensa del Alemán como Lengua Científica (Arbeitskreis Deutsch als Wissenschaftssprache, ADAWIS),así como muchos científicos, lingüistas y traductores internacionales- está a punto de expulsar completamente de sus dominios lingüísticos a otros lenguajes científicos elaborados y convertirlos en inutilizables para la transmisión de áreas enteras de conocimiento. Esto daña la libertad del conocimiento, limita la comunicación intercultural e impide el anclaje de la ciencia en la sociedad; además, está obstaculizando mediante una nueva diglosia elitista el acceso social a un conocimiento científico libre de barreras. Pero el monolingüismo y la diglosia se pueden curar: pensando en nuestro entorno directo, se hace necesario implantar verdaderas reglas multilingües de comunicación científica, un plurilingüismo auténtico y un fomento europeo de la traducción científica especializada para las lenguas del Espacio Europeo de Educación Superior (EEES) y el Espacio Europeo de Investigación (EEI). ; Common languages of communication are indispensable for global scientific communication, a role that has long been assumed exclusively by a global, sometimes a simplified, BSE-English - which, as the Association for the Defence of German as a Scientific Language (ADAWIS) claims - is on the verge of completely expelling other scientific languages from their linguistic domains and rendering them unusable for the transmission of entire areas of knowledge. This is damaging the freedom of knowledge, limiting intercultural communication and preventing the anchoring of science in society; and it is hindering social access to barrier-free scientific knowledge through a new elitist diglossia. However, monolingualism and diglossia can be cured: with our direct environment in mind, it is necessary to implement true multilingual rules of scientific communication in Europe, genuine multilingualism and a European promotion of specialized scientific translation for the languages of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and Research Area (ERA).
