Assuming this perspective, with this contribution we want to explore the presence / absence of Italo-Romance dialects, the roles associated with them and the relationships maintained with the other languages that are part of the Italian linguistic space, comparing what happens in the urban context and within schools. For the study of the urban LL, four gentrified districts of as many cities were selected. Regarding the schoolscape, we explored twelve lower and upper secondary schools, located in nine Italian regions. The data, collected in the period between 2017 and 2019 using the LL approach, consist of photographs of signs containing occurrences in dialect. These were analysed both from a quantitative point of view, in order to understand their actual weight within larger samples, and from a qualitative perspective. In addition, a questionnaire has been administered to a sample of 605 students and 104 teachers, with the aim of obtaining an indication of the repertoires and linguistic uses of the subjects, in general terms and in specific domains.
