Dazu wurden narrative Interviews mit fünf weiblichen und fünf männlichen Personen geführt, die allesamt Italienisch auf Lehramt an der Universität Wien studieren oder studiert haben. Die Interviews wurden im Sinne der Sprachbiographieforschung gestaltet und mittels einer qualitativen Inhaltsanalyse mit Kategoriensystem nach Mayring (2015) analysiert. Im Zuge der Analyse wurde deutlich, dass die italienische Sprache als Teil der Identität und als Teil des Selbst wahrgenommen wird und dass sie in unterschiedlichster Form im Alltag der InterviewpartnerInnen integriert ist. Es herrschen darüber hinaus eine starke Verbundenheit und Identifikation mit der Sprache. Die Befragten nehmen sich anders wahr, wenn sie auf Italienisch sprechen, da das Gefühl beim Sprechen, sowie Gestik und Stimmlage als anders empfunden werden. Wichtig für die Identifikation mit der Sprache und dem Land scheint es, auf der einen Seite viel Zeit in Italien zu verbringen, aber vor allem Kontakt zu Italienerinnen und Italienern zu pflegen. Sind diese Teil des Freundeskreises und Teil des Alltags, nehmen die Personen die Sprache auch als Teil ihrer Identität und als Teil ihres Selbst wahr. Wurde im Rahmen des Studiums wenig Zeit in Italien verbracht, wurde dort nur mit internationalen Studierenden verkeht, herrscht aktuell wenig Kontakt zu Italienerinnen und Italienern in Italien und in Wien, ist die Identifikation geringer, da die Sprache dann ein kleinerer Teil ihres Selbst und ihrer Identität ist. ; The aim of this thesis is to show the influence of the acquisition of the Italian language on self-perception, everyday life and identity of Austrian Italian language students. Narrative interviews were conducted with five female and five male students, all of whom study or studied Italian at the University of Vienna. The interviews were designed with regard to language biography research and analysed using qualitative content analysis with a category system based on Mayring (2015). In the course of the analysis, it became clear that the Italian language is perceived as part of the identity, part of the self and is integrated into the everyday life of the interviewees in a variety of ways. Furthermore, there is a strong connection and identification with the Italian language. The respondents perceive themselves differently when speaking in Italian, as the feeling during speaking, gestures and voice are perceived as different. It seems important for the identification with the language and the country to spend a lot of time in Italy on the one hand, but above all to maintain contact with Italians. If Italians are part of the friendship circle and part of the everyday life, participants perceive the language as part of their identity and as part of their self. On the other hand, if students spent little time in Italy, if they spent the time there only with international students, if they currently have little contact with Italians in Italy and Vienna, then they identify less with the language and culture, since the language is then a smaller part of their self and their identity.
