; Corpus analysis has made it possible to broaden the horizons concerning several different fields of linguistic analysis since the data collected can be used to explore different aspects of language, to investigate and compare linguistic phenomena or to find useful patterns. Thus, the aim of this work is to create and analyse a corpus of scientific articles on nutrition using some open source computer tools in order to obtain linguistic resources and visualisations of the data collected. Given the lack of linguistic resources in specialised languages, it is intended to provide a possible solution to this issue. A methodology will be proposed in order to simplify this process for users who are not specialised in corpus analysis or have any knowledge of programming languages, a methodology which could be applied to other areas of knowledge. This will be done by demonstrating in detail the steps taken in each of the linguistic analysis tools for corpora exploration (e.g. AntConc, Wordsmith Tools or Sketch Engine), in tools based and not based on programming languages for text mining (e.g., Rapid Miner) and for data visualization (e.g., JavaScript: Chart.JS, D3.js, HighCharts, IRaMuTeQ, Gephi). This work focused on exploring tools and selecting the ones best suited for each proposed task. As a final result, it is expected to obtain a methodology that will allow the identification of the vocabulary, terms, and expressions most used in the area of nutrition, and that will be well received by the academic community, for being simple, easy to learn, and that can be applied to various areas of knowledge.
