Der S8-II wird in erster Linie in der Forschung eingesetzt. Für jede Skala des S8-II wird ein Item vorgegeben, sodass das Verfahren aus insgesamt acht Items besteht. Jedes Item ist aus drei Nomen zusammengesetzt und soll auf einer siebenstufigen Ratingskala beantwortet werden. Aus den Skalennamen (1) Duty, (2) Intellect, (3) Adversity, (4) Mating, (5) pOsitivity, (6) Negativity, (7) Deception und (8) Sociality wurde der Name DIAMONDS gebildet. Reliabilität: Es fehlen Angaben zur Reliabilität. Validität: Die Konstruktvalidität wurde untersucht. Dabei wurden alle Kurzvarianten (S8-I, S8-III-A, S8-III-P) sowie der S8* untereinander korreliert.
