	Abstract: Die Untersuchung soll substantiierte Informationen über die Phase der Vorbereitung auf bzw. Einmündung in den Beruf erbringen und damit erstmalig empirisch untermauertes Wissen über Zusammenhänge zwischen sprachlicher, insbesondere mehrsprachiger Entwicklung und den ersten Schritten in die berufliche Integration von Jugendlichen mit und ohne Migrationshintergrund generieren. Die leitenden Themen des Vorhabens sind: Sprachentwicklung an der Schwelle zum Beruf, Entwicklung berufsbildungs- und arbeitsmarktrelevanter sprachlicher Kenntnisse, Entwicklung sprachlicher Orientierungen und Strategien unter dem Eindruck praktischer Übergangserfahrungen in den Beruf. Im Zentrum des Interesses stehen Erkenntnisse, die die Weiterentwicklung sprachlicher Fähigkeiten in Richtung auf berufliche bzw. akademische Fachsprachlichkeit betreffen. Die Ergebnisse bieten Anknüpfungspunkte für die Optimierung von Beratungs- und Informationsangeboten am Übergang in den Beruf. Ferner werden Gelingensbedingungen für einen erfolgreichen Übergang vom Schulleben in die Qualifizierung für einen Beruf aufgezeigt. Besonderes Interesse gilt hierbei der Identifizierung von – insbesondere sprachlichen – Voraussetzungen und Orientierungen für eine erfolgreiche Bewältigung ungünstiger Lebensumstände, also von Maßnahmen, Strategien oder Praktiken, die geeignet sind, benachteiligende Effekte der Herkunft von Schüler(inne)n aus bildungsfernen Familien abzuschwächen. Ergänzt wird die Untersuchung um vertiefende Fragen zu Einflüssen des Gebrauchs digitaler Medien auf die (schrift-)sprachliche Praxis der Jugendlichen. (DIPF/Orig.) ; The follow-up project to MEZ focusses specifically on the phase in adolescents’ lives in which they prepare for their professional or vocational paths. The first study of its kind, MEZ-2 will provide empirically substantiated findings on the relationship between language - especially multilingual - development and the initial steps toward professional integration taken by young people both with and without a migration background. The main research areas of the project are: Language development in the transition to career paths, the development of language skills perceived to be relevant to professional training and the labour market, language development strategies and their influences during this transitional phase. Within the context of school-to-career transition, MEZ-2 follows up on the educational and career academic language skills, which can be used in career advice for young multilinguals. The findings will further draw attention to supportive conditions in making the transition from school to professional qualification. Particular attention is paid to examining and identifying (linguistic) measures and strategies that may mitigate the negative effects of growing up in educationally disadvantaged families. The study is supplemented by in-depth investigations on the (written) language practice of adolescents in digital media. (DIPF/Orig.)
