	Abstract: The paper interprets the basic characteristics of coherence and cohesion of the text presented in one of the works by L. G. Babenko. These characteristics are considered, firstly, as the signified and the signifier of the text, and as a kind of a sign structure. It is noted in the rationale of the innermost structure of the concept of having a coherence unit. When applied to the text, the complex structure of syntagmatic combinatorial formation, understanding of semantic coherence means having the center in a particular syntagmatic deployment within the framework of the system of language means in their sequential linear manifestation which provides cohesion of the text. Since the central idea of the article is the idea of the universality of basic characteristics like coherence and cohesion in any syntagmatic formation proposal as syntagmatic structure is also determined by these characteristics. However, a simple sentence as distinct from the text of the syntagmatic structure of these properties represents a specific unit. Propositional nominee has a functional organization of integrity, as well as the reflected substrate — extralinguistic event. Therefore, the proposal to refer to the coherence of properties and cohesion, there are other linguistic resources, denoted by certain other terms. ; В статье интерпретируются базовые характеристики текста: целостность и связность, представленные в одной из работ Л. Г. Бабенко. Эти характеристики текста рассматриваются, во-первых, в качестве означаемого и означающего текста, как своеобразной знаковой структуры. Отмечается логическое обоснование наличия целостности в самой внутренней структуре понятия единица. В применении к тексту, сложному по структуре комбинаторному синтагматическому формированию, понимание целостности означает наличие смыслового центра в том или ином синтагматическом развертывании в рамках системы языковых средств в их последовательном линейном проявлении, что и обеспечивает связность текста. Так как центральной мыслью статьи является идея универсальности таких базовых характеристик как целостность и связность в любом синтагматическом образовании, предложение как синтагматическая структура определяется также этими характеристиками. Однако простое предложение, как отличная от текста синтагматическая структура, эти свойства единицы репрезентирует специфично. Пропозициональный номинант имеет функциональную организацию целостности, равно как и отражаемый им субстрат — экстралингвистическое событие. Поэтому в предложении для обозначения свойств целостности и связности существуют иные языковые средства, обозначенные иными терминами.
