Abstract: The article is devoted to the research of optimal ways of teaching senior and post-graduate students the peculiarities of English scholar style. The necessity of such activity in the context of globalization is proved. The reasons of difficulties arising in dealing with foreign sources and translating Ukrainian professional economical or legal terminology into English have been considered. The most problematic educational (academic) terms have been listed; the linguistic phenomenon of inadequate word-to-word translation has been demonstrated; the peculiarities of the proper translation of the lexeme “science” and cognate words in different contexts have been explained. Practice exercises (choice of the right word among the proposed ones, matching and true-false drills) aimed to overcome the mentioned-above difficulties and efficient methods of educational process organization have been shown. The term “a translator’s false friend” is explained and illustrated with the help of corresponding examples. A list of clichés characteristic of the English scholar style (for instance, in resume writing) have been proposed; the grammar commentary has been given. Тhe principles of successful summary writing in English have been stated. A correspondent sample has been proposed. The conditions of successful development of scholar writing skills have been pointed out.
