Abstract:
This article aims to define what we mean by « translanguaging ». This is the complex process (Morin, 1995) of the emergence of a shared language within a group. It refers to all the “liquid” strategies (Bauman, 2000), which evolve when one person relates to another within a multicultural group so that emotional, physical, linguistic and cultural mediation can take place, through the different behavioral patterns. I will show this using the example of a long-term study of co-teaching English and German as foreign languages through drama, in a multilingual bilanguage class (« classe bilangue »). After outlining the experimental context, which provides a framework for an enactive pedagogy (Varela, 1993 ; Aden, 2012), I will analyse (with the help of filmed extracts) the components of « translanguaging » in relation to the mechanisms of empathy. ; Cet article est un essai de définition de la translangageance. Cette notion décrit un processus complexe (Morin, 1995) d’émergence d’un langage commun dans un groupe. Elle désigne l’ensemble des stratégies évolutives et « liquides » (Bauman, 2000) de la médiation (émotionnelle, corporelle, linguistique et culturelle) en tant que pratique plurilingue, des comportements, attitudes et mécanismes de relation à soi et aux autres. Je l’illustrerai dans le contexte d’une étude longitudinale concernant l’enseignement conjoint de l’allemand et l’anglais LVE1 au travers de la pratique théâtrale. Cette étude est menée dans une « classe bilangue » plurilingue en Seine-Saint-Denis. Après avoir décrit le cadre de l’expérimentation, qui met en oeuvre une forme de pédagogie énactive (Varela, 1993 ; Aden, 2012), je présenterai, dans deux extraits de corpus vidéo, une analyse des différentes modalités de la translangageance en lien avec les mécanismes d’empathie.
