⟨10.4000/rsp.422⟩ (2016)
Abstract: International audience ; Critical discourse analysis has been operating for many years (Van Dijk, 1993; Fairclough 2005) based on the emergence of various models drawing on semantics and pragmatics, as well as cognitive sciences applied to linguistics and communication. In this perspective, CDA has been expanded by notions like interdiscourses (Garric and Longhi, 2013), prediscourses (Paveau 2006), thus weaving a web of discursive possibilities, to which we wish to add the notion of postdiscourses, defined as potential discourses generated by past and present discursive networks. A model of discursive possibilities is directly inspired by Galatanu’s semantics of argumentative possibilities (Galatanu, 2009), yet also wishes to propose un pluridiscursive system in order to understand the potential of discursive structures as well as their risks and stakes, thus drawing on the principles of common sense (Sarfati, 2011) and semantic nodes (Wagener, 2012). This model will here be presented in an exhaustive and purely theoretic manner, in order to clearly identify its conceptual resources and methodological goals.
