Children are categorized as bilinguals if their exposure percent to a second language, using the Language Exposure Assessment Tool, equals or exceeds 20%. If not, the child is labeled as monolingual. This detailed language exposure tool allows us to examine the role of bilingualism as a binary, continuum, and profile factor. We will also consider infants' exposure to Latino ethnicity as well as different races. ...
