Imbuhan Apitan Dalam Bahasa Bajau Kota Belud, Sabah: Satu Tinjauan Dini

Abstract: Makalah ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsi imbuhan apitan dalam bahasa Bajau yang dituturkan di daerah Kota Belud, Sabah. Terdapat aturan morfologi dan aturan fonologi yang menjadi rumus yang perlu dipatuhi untuk proses pembentukkan kata dalam bahasa ini. Data dikumpul dari dua buah kampung, iaitu dari kampung Timbang Dayang dan kampung Kuala Abai dalam daerah Kota Belud. Seramai empat orang informan terlibat semasa proses pengumpulan data berkenaan. Kesemua informan adalah individu yang tidak pernah mendapat pendidikan formal. Pemilihan sedemikian dilakukan untuk mengelak daripada kata-kata pinjaman dijadikan sebagai data. Proses temu bual dilakukan secara tidak berstruktur, tidak formal dan dalam situasi santai agar para informan boleh bertutur dengan tenang tanpa berasa tertekan dalam proses berkenaan. Semua temu bual telah dirakam dan dianalisis serta dilakukan proses triangulasi untuk mengelak data autentik berbaur dengan kata pinjaman. Hasil analisis mendapati terdapat tujuh bentuk imbuhan apitan dalam bahasa ini, iaitu imbuhan apitan ke-; apitan pe-; apitan se-; apitan gi-; apitan ni-; apitan ti-; dan apitan bi-. Setiap apitan memiliki alomorf masing-masing, yakni /ke-an; ki-an; pi-an; pe-an; pe-in; si-an; si-en; ni-an; ni-en; bian; ti-an; gi-an/. Setiap apitan akan berubah berdasarkan fonem-fonem yang mengikutinya. Proses morfofonemik yang berlaku dalam bahasa ini menarik kerana proses berkenaan mendatangkan perubahan makna selepas sesuatu fonem menerima apitan.
