	Abstract: La lingua italiana ha sempre giocato un ruolo chiave nel panorama linguistico europeo ed extraeuropeo, influenzando significativamente la maggior parte delle lingue romanze e alcune lingue germaniche come l'inglese e il tedesco. A dimostrazione di ciò, basti pensare al fenomeno – rafforzato dalla globalizzazione – degli italianismi presenti in diverse lingue. Questo articolo si propone di individuare e indagare i lessemi di origine italiana che, negli ultimi anni, si sono infiltrati nella lingua inglese, la lingua franca per eccellenza, soprattutto per quanto riguarda l’enogastronomia. A tal fine, si è utilizzato come punto di partenza l’Oxford English Dictionary e come punto di riferimento il Dizionario di italianismi in francese, inglese, tedesco (DIFIT), un’opera lessicografica che comprende oltre 5.000 parole italiane di uso comune nelle lingue francese, inglese e tedesca. Ai fini della ricerca si sono analizzati tre diversi corpora: enTenTen 15, disponibile all’interno del software Sketch Engine e due corpora ottenuti dal New York Times Cooking e dal BBC Good Food, le sezioni culinarie del quotidiano americano New York Times e dell’emittente pubblica britannica BBC, che permettono di stimare l’effettiva presenza di italianismi nell'inglese americano, utilizzando l’inglese britannico come benchmark. Recent food and wine italianisms in the English language: a corpus analysis The Italian language has always played a key role in the European and extra-European linguistic scene, significantly influencing most Romance languages as well as some Germanic languages such as English and German. As an illustration of this, one need only think of the phenomenon – reinforced by globalization – of Italianisms occurring in several languages.This scientific article aims to identify and investigate the lexemes of Italian origin that, in the last few years, have infiltrated the English language, the lingua franca par excellence, especially with regard to food and wine. To this end, the Oxford English Dictionary was used as a starting point and the Dizionario di italianismi in francese, inglese, tedesco (DIFIT), an lexicographic work that includes over 5,000 Italian words commonly used in the French, English and German languages as a benchmark. Three different corpora were analyzed for research purposes: enTenTen 15, available within in software Sketch Engine and two corpora obtained from The New York Times Cooking and the BBC Good Food, the culinary sections of the American daily newspaper The New York Times and British public service broadcaster BBC, to estimate the presence of italianisms in American English, using British English as a benchmark.
