The objective is to analyse learners of Portuguese-AL’s oral and written production. The data analysed was produced in a virtual environment. The results suggest some aspects that electronic resources optimise: genuine interaction; situations in which learners risk more whist producing written and speaking work in the FL, connecting to what happens in everyday life; learning develops beyond the context of the classroom, since learners receive feedback from the tutor about language forms and uses beyond the syllabus of the course; and the granting of autonomy to learners as they can systematise their learning process.
