Abstract:
This paper illustrates some significant elements related to the recreational linguistics for adults and teachers. Moreover, it presents some activities implemented and discussed during a webinar framed within a digital project of Italian language teachers training.The two authors start from a theoretical overview of the complex dimension of the game, with particular reference to its numerous benefits in professional and personal growth as well as in lifelong learning.Then, they focus on recreational linguistics, describing some activities to introduce, expand, and strengthen vocabulary. The paper also describes how to stimulate ideas, knowledge, and intercultural dialogue among teachers and among learners.The positive emotional aspects originated during the webinar thanks to the recreational activities are presented and their strong interrelation with the lifelong learning and the teaching practice is explained.
