Is there any Relationship Between Emotional Intelligence and Career Performance of Academic Staff of Public Colleges of Education in Benue State, Nigeria? A Field Report ...
Abstract: The study investigated if emotional intelligence has any relationship with career performance of staff of public colleges of education in Benue State, Nigeria. The sample of this study was made up of 217 academic staff that were drawn from public colleges of education in Benue State, Nigeria. This study adopted the correlational research design. The instruments known as Academic Staff Emotional Intelligence Scale (ASEIS) and Academic Staff Career Performance Scale (ASCPS) were used to collect data for this study. ASEIS and ASCPS were trial tested which yielded the reliability values of 0.82 and 0.71 using Cronbach Alpha. Five research questions and five null hypotheses guided the study. The research questions were answered using multiple regression analysis while, the hypotheses were tested using ANOVA of regression analysis.
