Abstract:
Harvey SACKS gilt als einer der Pioniere der ethnomethodologischen Konversationsanalyse. Ca. 40 Jahre nach seinem Tod finden sich nun viele seiner zentralen Konzepte und Ansätze in einem Band versammelt und von Autor*innen verschiedener Generationen anhand eigener Forschung dargestellt. Somit ist der Sammelband kein klassisches Lehrbuch zum Einstieg in die ethnomethodologisch-konversationsanalytische Arbeit nach Harvey SACKS, sondern bietet einen Überblick über sein reich- und nachhaltiges Wirken in der forschungspraktischen Anwendung. Die Autor*innen des Sammelbands vereinen in 17 Beiträgen unter anderem soziologische, linguistische und didaktische Ansätze und beweisen mit ihrer interdisziplinären Ausrichtung, wie elastisch das von SACKS geprägte Forschungsprogramm nach wie vor ist. Dem Untertitel des Bandes folgend finden sich in diesem Sinne neben methodologischen Diskussionen und vielfältigen Materialsammlungen auch Inspirationen dafür, SACKS und seine Arbeiten (wieder) zu entdecken und seine Ansätze weiterzuentwickeln. ; Harvey SACKS is considered one of the pioneers of ethnomethodological conversation analysis. Forty years after his death, a volume has been presented in which researchers from different generations illustrate many of his central concepts and approaches in the context of their own research. Thus, this anthology is not a typical textbook for the introduction to ethnomethodological conversation analysis, but offers an overview of SACKS' rich and lasting work in research practice. In 17 contributions, sociological, linguistic, and didactic approaches, among others, are combined, and this interdisciplinary orientation proves how flexible the research program shaped by SACKS still is. As indicated by the subtitle of the volume, in addition to methodological discussions and diversity of material, readers will find inspiration for (re)discovering SACKS and his work for further development.
