O trabalho desenvolvido no decorrer do estágio consistiu na tradução para língua portuguesa de textos técnicos de diferentes tipologias escritos em língua inglesa, especialmente da área do ensino e da avaliação de línguas. O objetivo principal deste relatório consiste numa discussão de aspetos linguísticos relacionados com questões lexicais. Para a análise dessas questões foram selecionados exemplos de fenómenos de tradução recolhidos nos dois textos de maior extensão. O primeiro capítulo deste trabalho é constituído por um relatório de atividades, cuja função é apresentar a entidade de acolhimento e a sua organização interna, descrever o funcionamento do estágio, assim como a metodologia utilizada. Nesta parte são também descritos e caracterizados todos os textos trabalhados. No segundo capítulo é efetuado o enquadramento teórico da tradução que fundamenta este estudo, através de uma contextualização da tradução como conceito e como objeto de estudo. Além disso, nesta secção faz-se uma apresentação da tradução técnica, onde se descrevem as suas particularidades e os tipos mais comuns de texto técnico. Enfatiza-se ainda o papel de cada um dos agentes envolvidos na sua realização, nomeadamente o do tradutor, o do cliente e o do público-alvo. No terceiro e último capítulo são discutidas questões relativas ao léxico comum e ao léxico de especialidade, apresentando-se soluções para alguns fenómenos que podem causar dificuldades no processo de tradução, através de exemplos identificados nos documentos trabalhados. Estes fenómenos têm origem na assimetria que se verifica nos padrões de lexicalização da língua de partida e da língua de chegada, ou surgem a partir de combinatórias lexicais. ; This report is based on the work that was conducted during a curricular internship, as a part of the master’s degree in Translation, which was carried out at Camões – Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua, I.P. The core task carried out during this internship was the translation of technical texts of different types from English to Portuguese, mainly regarding language teaching and assessment. A discussion of linguistic aspects linked to lexical issues is the main goal of this study. For the purpose of analysis, some examples of translation phenomena were selected from the two longer texts we worked on. An activities report is featured in the first chapter and its purpose is to describe the host institution, its internal organization, the structure of the internship, as well as the working methods used. All the texts we translated are also described in this section. The theoretical framework that supports this study can be found in the second chapter, focusing on translation as a concept and an object of study. Furthermore, this section includes a presentation of technical translation, mentioning its characteristics and the most common types of technical texts. The role of each agent involved in its development, namely the roles of the translator, client and target audience, is emphasized. Topics related to common lexicon and specialized lexicon are explored in the third and final chapter, while presenting solutions to phenomena that can cause difficulties in the process of translation through examples gathered from the texts we worked on. These phenomena emerge from lexical combinations or occur because of the asymmetry that exists between the lexicalization patterns of the source language and of the target language.
