Abstract:
Η παρούσα εργασία εκπονήθηκε για να διερευνήσει το γλωσσοεκπαιδευτικό ζήτημα στην Ελλάδα από την περίοδο καθιέρωσης του Συντάγματος του 1911 έως τη γλωσσική μεταρρύθμιση του 1917, τα οποία πραγματοποιήθηκαν επί κυβέρνησης Ελευθερίου Βενιζέλου. Μέσα στο συγκεκριμένο χρονικό πλαίσιο υπήρξαν έντονες συγκρούσεις ανάμεσα στους συντηρητικούς και στην αστική προοδευτική τάξη και ασκήθηκε έντονη κριτική στους μεταρρυθμιστές. Τα έτη 1911 και 1917 αποτελούν σημαντικούς ιστορικούς σταθμούς, καθώς το 1911 κατοχυρώθηκε για πρώτη φορά η καθαρεύουσα ως επίσημη γλώσσα του κράτους και το 1917 καθιερώθηκε η δημοτική γλώσσα στο δημοτικό σχολείο. Καθοριστικό ρόλο στο πολιτικό γίγνεσθαι, κατά το μελετώμενο χρονικό διάστημα, διαδραμάτισε το πρόσωπο του Ελευθερίου Βενιζέλου, επί της κυβέρνησης του οποίου πραγματοποιήθηκε η εκπαιδευτική μεταρρύθμιση του 1913 και η γλωσσοεκπαιδευτική αλλαγή του 1917. Τα σημαντικότερα γεγονότα των μελετώμενων ετών ήταν η ίδρυση του Εκπαιδευτικού Ομίλου και η ίδρυση του Ανώτερου Παρθεναγωγείου του ... : The present paper aims to investigate the educational and language issue in Greece from the period of the establishment of the 1911 Constitution to the language reform of 1917 under the government of Eleftherios Venizelos. Within that specific time frame, intense uproars between the conservatives and the progressive bourgeoisie arose and the reformers were intensely criticized. In this context, 1911 and 1917 are regarded as the milestone in history since in 1911 “Katharevusa” was established for the first time as the official language of the state and in 1917 the Demotic Greek Language, the colloquial vernacular form of Modern Greek, was introduced in primary schools. A decisive role in the political development during the examined period was ascribed to Eleftherios Venizelos, under whose government the educational reform of 1913 and the educational and language change of 1917 took place.
