Abstract:
; ABSTRACT: The aim of this project is the development of a didactic interface that facilitates the learning of Portuguese sign language by children who attend regular education. How can children make regular education communicate through new technologies, in the educational field? The object of study focuses on the communication problem that exists in deaf and / or mute children, when they are confronted by their daily barriers, imposed by our society. Although there is no regular Portuguese education, there is the possibility of learning other languages, Portuguese Sign Language (LGP) is not part of the curriculum, which conditions the inclusion of the deaf / dumb community. The absence of a philosophy of bilingual education, Portuguese and LGP, results in the distance between hearing children and deaf / dumb children, which affects the emotional and cognitive development of both groups. Several studies carried out in this context, in the Portuguese context, conclude that this is a subject that has an impact on our society. Namely in the future of deaf / dumb children, without any impasse in their communication, and consequently in their quality of life. Hence, the importance of this project that tries to alert to a problem in our society, but above all, to contribute to demolish barriers. On the other hand, there is also a strong market opportunity where more and more as companies alert us to this need, showing the importance of knowing how to communicate the underlying message in the best possible way. ; N/A
