Es sollte ge¬klärt werden, welche Varietäten, wie „Dialekt“ und „Hochdeutsch“, mit welchen salienten Merkmalen inszeniert und welche „sozialen“ Implikationen bei der Betrachtung des Films beim Zuseher evoziert werden dürften. Dazu wurden im Theorieteil zuerst die Interaktionale Soziolinguistik und die Attitüden-forschung sowie eine Auswahl der bisherigen Ergebnisse der Spracheinstellungsforschung im deutschsprachigen Raum, welche in der Analyse zur Verknüpfung von Sprachmerkmalen mit den sozialen Implikationen herangezogen wurden, vorgestellt. Darauf folgte eine kurze Einführung in die Filmanalyse, die aufgrund des verwendeten Mediums Film berücksichtigt werden musste. Im Anschluss daran wurde auf den bisherigen Forschungsstand im Bereich der Varietätenverwendung im Film eingegangen, bevor die Piefke-Saga, ihr Entstehungskontext und die bisherige damit zusammenhängende Forschung präsentiert wurden. Im Hauptteil meiner Arbeit wurde zuerst die Qualitative Inhaltsanalyse, welche in der Analyse angewandt wurde, vorgestellt. Daraufhin wurden die in der Piefke-Saga vermittelten Konzepte von Sprache sowie deren saliente Merkmale präsentiert, bevor der Sprachgebrauch der Cha¬raktere des Films anhand des Drehbuchs innerhalb der Gruppen „Hochdeutsche“, „Dialektale“ und „Gemischte“ analysiert wurde. Zudem wurden die Verständigungsprobleme zwischen den Bundesdeutschen und Österreichern genauer betrachtet und die ersten drei Teile mit dem vierten verglichen, da es in diesem zu einer „Dialekt“-Verstärkung gekommen ist. Des Weiteren wurde analysiert, ob es zwischen dem Drehbuch und der tatsächlichen Realisierung zu Unter¬schieden gekommen ist, bevor in einem letzten Schritt noch die wissenschaftliche und öffentliche Rezeption der Filmreihe in Bezug auf Metasprachliches präsentiert wurde. ; The aim of this master thesis was to show the different varieties and their associated social meanings in the Piefke-Saga. The analysis should answer the questions which concepts of lan-guage, f. e. „dialect“ or „high german“, were represented with wich salient characteristics, and which social concepts would be associated with them by the viewers. The paper mainly consists of two parts. The first presents the underlying theoretical frame ¬ the Interactional Sociolinguistic and the Research of Attitudes. It also presents results from the language attitude research in the german speaking area which are used to link social meanings to the language concepts in the analysis. This is followed by a short introduction to the film-analysis which needs to be considered because of the medium film. The next part of the paper introduces the results in the research of variety use in movies up til now. After that the Piefke-Saga, their context of making and the research until now are presented. The second part of the paper starts with an introduction to the Qualitative Method, which was used for the analysis. After that the concepts of language and the salient charasteristics are presented. Then the language use of the characters are showed in the groups „Hochdeutsche“, „Dialektale“ and „Gemischte“ in which they were analyzed. The next part shows the commu-nication problems between the Germans and Austrians. Another part presents the differences between the first three and the last movie, in which one can find more dialectal charasteristics. And the last part of the paper presents the literary reception of the movie concearning metalanguage.
