Abstract: A partir de l’experiència personal de traducció de l’autor, aquest article fa unes quantes consideracions sobre possibles aspectes i recursos a tenir en compte en la traducció d’obres de narrativa moderna pertanyents a èpoques i cultures distants centrant-se en la de la novel·la Sense and Sensibility (1811), de Jane Austen, amb l’objectiu últim de transmetre l’esperit de l’obra original amb la màxima fidelitat, versemblança i contemporaneïtat possibles. ; Based on the author’s first-hand experience in translation, this article raises several points on aspects and resources that should possibly be considered when translating modern fiction from remote cultures and periods, focussing on the novel Sense and Sensibility (1811) by Jane Austen, with the ultimate goal of expressing the spirit of the original work as faithfully, credibly and contemporaneously as possible.
