Abstract:
The high growth of Online Social Networks (OSNs) over the last few years has allowed automated accounts, also known as social bots, to gain ground. Most social bots are malicious and tend to mimic human behavior, posing high-level security threats in OSN platforms. Therefore, the detection and suspension of these accounts are essential in order to maintain a healthy and safe environment for people to interact and communicate. In addition to their existence, social bots evolve over time by inheriting new characteristics and becoming more sophisticated, able to evade current state-of-the-art detection systems. This thesis proposes a robust proactive Adversarial methodology that trains Generative Adversarial Networks (GANS) to create realistic synthetic samples of multi-type bot accounts, simulating the evolved versions of the existing bots. Τα περισσότερα κοινωνικά ρομπότ είναι κακόβουλα και τείνουν να μιμούνται την ανθρώπινη συμπεριφορά, θέτοντας σημαντικές απειλές για την ασφάλεια στις πλατφόρμες κοινωνικών μέσων. Επομένως, ο εντοπισμός και η αναστολή αυτών των λογαριασμών είναι ουσιαστικής σημασίας προκειμένου να διατηρηθεί ένα υγιές και ασφαλές περιβάλλον για την αλληλεπίδραση και την επικοινωνία των ανθρώπων στα κοινωνικά μέσα δικτύωσης. Εκτός από την ύπαρξή τους, οι αυτοματοποιημένοι λογαριασμοί εξελίσσονται με την πάροδο του χρόνου κληρονομώντας νέα χαρακτηριστικά και γίνονται πιο εξελιγμένοι, ικανοί να αποφύγουν τα τρέχοντα συστήματα ανίχνευσης αιχμής.
