Abstract:
An interview about her memories of the old settlement on the Tanaru River, which was part of Aikanã traditional territory and where several of our informants were born. Peridalva remembers the malocas, the people and daily life at the Tanaru, an important place in the history of these peoples and where she also used to live. This interview adds to our existing documentation on the oral history of the Tanaru settlement, which is now on private farmland. I also created and discussed various family trees with her. I was not only able to add significant information on kin relations, ethnicity and birth places of people that none of the other villagers are able to remember, but as well write detailed personal histories that will help us to contextualise our linguistic and anthropological documentation efforts.
