Abstract: Book synopsis: This book questions the problematic interactions intercultural situations and comparative and intercultural in different fields (ordinary communication, language learning situations, mediation), questioning skills linguistic, pragmatic and cultural values at work in a situation exolingual communication. The first section consists of articles in the field of pragmatic interaction and conversational analysis, which are based on the choice of an approach called "comparative" or "contrastive". This approach starts from the observation that the operation of various types of communicative exchanges between community members and the discursive rules and principles that underlie are not universal, and intends to highlight these differences, distinguished because of its linguistic origin and ethnomethodological, other types of work on intercultural. The issue of intercultural indeed approached from the point of view of the functioning of the communication. The second part problematizes by intercultural approaches, the relationship to otherness in situations where the language issue is at the heart of issues: teaching and learning a foreign language or work situations requiring a high degree of socio-pragmatic competence.
