International audience ; In diesem zweiteiligen Aufsatz geht es um den Ausdruck Klima und dessen Entwicklung von einem ursprünglich fachsprachlichen Terminus zu einem Schlüsselwort der umweltpolitischen Diskussion. Die Medienberichterstattung spielt dabei eine zentrale Rolle. Auf der Grundlage der Ergebnisse gezielter Recherchen im Deutschen Referenzkorpus wird im vorliegenden Beitrag ermittelt, wie häufig Klima-Bildungen seit ca. 1950 verwendet werden. Im zweiten Teil des Beitrags (Folgeheft 2/2021) wird die Bedeutungsverschiebung von Klima untersucht und auf die Klassifikation von Klima-Komposita eingegangen. Die metaphorischen Bereiche, denen sich häu- fig verwendete Klima-Komposita zuordnen lassen, werden abschließend kurz dargestellt. ; This two-part paper deals with Klima (=climate) and the evolution of this word from an originally technical term to a keyword in the environmental policy discussion. Media coverage plays a cen- tral role in this context. On the basis of research conducted in the Deutsches Referenzkorpus, we will first determine how frequently compounds with Klima have been used in German media since about 1950. In the second part of the article (follow-up issue 2/2021) we will focus on the meaning change of this word, discuss the classification of Klima compounds, and briefly present the metaphorical domains to which frequently used Klima compounds can be assigned.
