Propuesta de un catálogo de técnicas de traducción : la toma de decisiones informada ante la elección de equivalentes

Abstract:
Este artículo ofrece un catálogo de técnicas de traducción elaborado desde un enfoque comunicativo y pragmático, que resulta novedoso porque permite al traductor acceder a una información clave que hasta la fecha no se incluye en los recursos lexicográficos ni terminográficos existentes. Se trata de conocer hasta qué punto el equivalente propuesto en la lengua / cultura de llegada coincide con el concepto al que hace referencia el término en la lengua / cultura original, y ofrecer soluciones adecuadas para las distintas situaciones comunicativas a las que se puede enfrentar la persona que traduce, de forma que pueda tomar decisiones terminológicas informadas. Con este fin se analizan las técnicas de traducción que se pueden emplear cuando el concepto original no existe o no coincide exactamente con el concepto de la lengua o cultura de llegada y se ilustran con ejemplos de los campos jurídico (traducción entre familias jurídicas distintas) y filosófico (traducción de textos filosóficos orientales entre lenguas y culturas muy lejanas) ; The aim of this paper is to provide a catalog of translation techniques from a pragmatic and communicative approach. This new approach allows the translator to access some key information that is not currently included in lexicographical or terminographical resources: the extent to which there is coincidence between the target language / culture equivalent proposed and the concept behind the term of the source language / culture. Solutions are provided for the different possible situations, in order for the translator to be able to make informed terminological decisions. Therefore, the paper tackles the different possibilities the translator has when the source language/culture concept does not exist or does not fit exactly with the concept in the target language / culture. For each of the translation techniques proposed, examples are given from two different fields, translation of oriental philosophical texts between distant languages/cultures and legal translation between languages that belong to different legal families
